Carol was always so vibrant and warm, and I loved seeing get every week at church. I will never forget her zest for life and her genuine kindness that she showed to all of my family over many years.

Jennifer, so sorry to hear of your Mum’s passing. Cousin Carol was such a tfun loving and talented lady. We have fond memories of her playing the bagpipes, showing us her beautiful quilts and meeting her and your Dad on several RV excursions. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy at this sad time.

Q: What 3 words best describe Marjorie and why?
A: Beginning in Europe in the summer of 1990 and interspersed with visits to and from Sydney where the Penneys lived and Toronto where l live, my friendship with Ed, Carol & Jennifer has become a bond of 34 years!
Carol embraced everything and everyone! And so l learned about her quilting and the 'double wedding rings'. She loved to tell stories, one that stands out was about how Ed and Carol eloped!
Her wit knew no bounds - Gaelic expressions & jokes of 1990 still make me chuckle years later!
Food prep - immersed in her cook book with a measuring cup close by brought forth gourmet meals served in heirloom crockery and washed down with selective wine! What fun all of that plus exploring the nooks and crannies of Cape Breton became!
As Carol often said - l was her sister from another mother in another country.
Although distance separated us, every call and every visit brought back humorous interludes that kept us laughing and kept our friendship going.
They say that the Rose grows more beautifully on the other side. Dearest Carol, my adventurous friend, may you brighten the gardens of heaven with your radiance and your spirit!
I thank God that our paths crossed, l am all the wiser for having known you. Rest peacefully Carol until we meet again.
