Obituary of Harry Clarence Dean

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and uncle.  Harry, of Three Mile Plains, passed peacefully in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the age of 91.  

Harry was born on Fays Lane in Halifax on August 21, 1932 to the late Edward and Florence (Ring) Dean and moved to Beaver Bank as a toddler with his family. He married the love of his life, Leola and together they raised Anthony “Tony” Wayne. They lived in Beaver Bank until building their retirement home and moving to Three Mile Plains in 1985. Harry was a talented and meticulous landscaper, tree surgeon and gardener for over 40 years and in retirement carried on this work on his beautiful property in Three Mile Plains.  

He was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by his wife, Leola; son, Tony (Sharon); grandchildren, Megan, Julia, Tony and Tori; two great-grandchildren; siblings, George (Gisele), Brenda (Boyd Reid), Theresa (Gerald MacDonald), Mary (Russell Lively); along with countless nieces, nephews, family and friends.  

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Blair (Helen), Doris (Edward Metzler), Graham “Buddy”, Emily (Bernie Coffin), Clarence, Ronnie, Wayne (Linda), Paul (Neela) and Doreen Fifield. 

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 1 in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Everyone is welcome to join the family there for a time of remembering, reflection and refreshment. Interment will be held at a later date in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Sackville. Donations in memory of Harry may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting: www.demontfamilyfuneralhome.ca
