Irene Louise "Pix, Pixie" Skipper - 81, Gladys Manning Retirement Home, Windsor, formerly of Falmouth, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born November 22, 1931, in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Medea (Wilkins) Brown.Irene was a member of Christ Church Anglican, Windsor. She trained to become a Registered Nurse at Payzant Memorial Hospital, Windsor, and went on to work as a nurse in Germany, Edmonton General Hospital and finally at Hants Community Hospital until her retirement in 1996.Irene is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence Francis "Skip" Skipper; sons, Steven (Julie) Skipper, Wittenburg; Alan (Tena) Skipper, Estevan, Saskatchewan; daughter, Roxanne Lynn Skipper, Windsor; brother, Gordon (Alice) Brown, Dartmouth; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, P.O. Box 981, Windsor, NS  B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where Irene`s family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, March 7, 2013, and where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2013, Reverend Dr. John Bartol officiating. Reception will follow in the funeral home`s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment will be held at a later date in Centre Falmouth Cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Irene`s memory to Lung Association of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice are welcomed.
