Obituary of Robert Glendon McLellan

Age 63, of Halifax, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at home. Born on June 13, 1961 in Cambridge, Hants Co., he was a son of the late Joan and Gerald McLellan. Bob is survived by his wife, Alicia (Thompson); stepsons, Trevor, Jason, and Ian; his son, Robert; brothers and sisters, Warren, Charlie, Doreen, Marilyn, John, Shirley, Ruby, Geraldine, Sylvia, Barb, Hilda; and eight grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Randy.

Bob was a loving husband and father to four children. Bob grew up within a close-knit family of 12 brothers and sisters. For many of those years Bob was his father’s caregiver, even moving to Saint John, NB, when his father transferred for health reasons. Bob returned to Nova Scotia after his father’s death in 1980. In 1988, he married Sandra and happily became father to three boys. Bob eventually started his own business, McLellan Roofing with his brothers, Warren and Randy. In 2001, Bob joined the carpenter’s union of which he was still a member.
 

In 2002, Bob settled in Halifax. He and Alicia bought a house on the Bedford Basin and renovations began and never ended! Bob enjoyed all that came with owning a home. Bonfires in the fire pit became regular weekend fun. Fishing was also a favourite pastime.

Those who met Bob never forgot him. He was always ready to lend his hand, his time, and his skill. Most of all, he was generous with his love. And in return he was the most loved and adored person many have ever known. He was an exceptional human being who will be intensely missed. We all know how blessed we were to have known him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 26.
