Obituary of Janet Lillian Cochrane

Age 69, of Halifax, formerly of St. Croix, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 in VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born April 3, 1955 in Windsor, she was a daughter of Lillian M. and the late William C. Cochrane.

Janet was a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph, working in Toronto, Australia and Britain. She later became an Environmental Scientist and had great concern for the environment. Janet loved to garden, travel and do quilting. She will be remembered for her positive and hopeful attitude; it was truly inspiring.

Besides her mother, Janet is survived by her step-daughters, Hannah Sheppard and Naomi Howard, Britain; two step-grandchildren and sister, Nancy, St. Croix. Besides her father, Janet was predeceased by her husband, Glynn Sheppard.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30 in Ste. Croix Cemetery, Cemetery Rd., St. Croix, Rev. Kevin Cox officiating. Please bring a chair if you require one.
