Obituary of Teresa Jean Hart

Age 74, of Belmont, Hants Co., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. She was born on May 11, 1950 in Windsor to the late Gordon and Louise (Levy) Lake.

Terry owned and operated her home-based baking business, Terry’s Home Baking, for over 30 years. She was also involved with Figure Skating, both as a judge for over 20 years and a volunteer for many years. She was always giving of her time to whatever friend, family or organization needed her help. She loved her grandchildren dearly as her pride and joy. She loved to read, bake for friends and family and sing for herself and whoever would listen. Terry was always excited to travel and loved whatever company she could bring along.

Terry is survived by her husband, Graham; children, Jerry (Joanne), Garry (Sarah), Glenn (Jennifer) and Lee-Anne (Michael) Cross; grandchildren, Emma, Kirsten, Jacob, Alyssa, Raymond and Rachael; siblings, Mary Anne, Susan, Gloria and Neil. 

Besides her parents, Terry was predeceased by siblings, Margaret, John, Andrew and Pamela; and her very dear lifelong friend, Betty Northrup-Swinamer.

The family would like to say thanks to the doctors and nurses for their care and compassion given at Valley Regional Hospital.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). Terry’s family will hold a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 12 in the Brooklyn Civic Centre, 995 Hwy. 215, Brooklyn. Burial will follow at St. Silas Cemetery, Belmont. Donations in memory of Terry may be made to the St. Silas Association – Belmont Cemetery, C/O Shelley Lake, 724 Belmont Rd., Belmont, NS B0N 2A0.
