Obituary of Jean Miller

Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor at the age of 80. She was born in Windsor, Hants County, on October 13, 1943, to the late Ernest “Ernie” and Jean (Swinamer) Robertson.

Diane was a beloved grandmother, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Her passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She had a passion for gardening, interior decorating and baking. She was a hairdresser for most of her life, owning her own salon for many years. Afterwards she worked alongside her husband transporting hearing/visually impaired children through their bus service. She loved her weekends driving across Atlantic Canada, spending time and building special connections with the kids and their families. However, she was a special woman who loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed watching her great grandkids play hockey and compete in horse shows, always giving her love and support. In her final weeks, she was surrounded by family and had the biggest smile on her face spending time with her first great-great grandchild, Mia, who was visiting from Ontario.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Donald George Miller, Martock, Hants Co.; children, Timothy Miller (Joane Poirier), Trenton, ON; Tamara “Tami” Miller, Martock, Hants Co. and Steven “Todd” Miller, Windsor; grandchildren, Stephanie, Jason, Sarah, Isabelle and Stephane; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Savannah, Kellan, Vienna, Sarina, Ava and Daniel; great-great granddaughter, Mia; many nieces, nephews and cousins that all held a special place in her heart.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by brothers, Earl Lake and Ernest “Buddy” Robertson; sisters, Carrie Ross and Elizabeth “Libby” Brazeau.

A special thank you to all those who helped Diane through her final months, the homecare workers provided by VON and Paramed as well as the Palliative Care Team at Hants Community Hospital.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). Respecting Diane’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in her memory may be made to your local VON branch.
