Obituary of Nicholas Lee Keddy

Please share a memory of Nicholas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with broken hearts and overwhelming sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Nicholas Lee Keddy, age 37, of Brooklyn, Hants Co., on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax. Born on March 19, 1987 in Windsor, he was the beloved son of Randy and Sherry (Parker) Keddy. He was a proud brother of Cassie and loving father to Bek, Leah, Amos and Bryer

Nick was loved and adored by many, everywhere he went he made fast friends. His smile could light up a room and his laugh was incredibly contagious. He had a love for classic and muscle cars, especially Mopar and building projects with his children. He was a gifted carpenter, a trait he inherited from his grandfather, Amos.

He was a proud employee with Dexters Construction for the past seven years. He spent the last two years proudly working on the road as an Asphalt Foreman with his crew, who were some of his favourite people, seeing all of Nova Scotia’s beautiful scenery.

Nick is also survived by and will be sadly missed by Racheal Hebb, the mother of his children; grandmother, Betty Parker; several aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as, Reuben Hebb, with whom Nick had a very special relationship with.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Amos Parker, with whom he shared a very special bond; paternal grandparents, Myrna (Keddy) and George Reynolds and special people in his life uncles, Ken Keddy and Don Dignan as well as, Cindy Hebb.

Nick’s loved ones would like to express a special thank you to the ICU Nurses and Doctors at the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, June 8 in the South West Hants Fire Hall, 1884 Hwy 14, Vaughan. We kindly ask you to wear your favourite flannel and “good” jeans. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nick may be made to the IWK Foundation, 100-5881 Spring Garden Rd., Halifax, NS B3H 4S3. "You Are Not Alone"

Say goodbye to all your pain and sorrow

Say goodbye to all those lonely nights

Say goodbye to all your blue tomorrows

Now you're standing in the light

I know sometimes you feel so helpless

Sometimes you feel like you can't win

Sometimes you feel so isolated

You'll never have to feel that way again

You are not alone

You're not alone

Never thought I'd find the road to freedom

Never thought I'd see you smile again

Never thought I'd have the chance to tell you

That I will always be your friend

You are not alone

You're not alone
