Obituary of Barry Martin Langan

Barry Martin Langan - 91, Windsor, Hants Co., passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.Born in Saint John, N.B., he was a son of the late Martin M. and Emily M. (Coldwell) Langan.Barry was a veteran of the Second World War and had been employed at the Halifax Dockyards for many years. He was a  neighbour to Ray and Lorraine McNeil and their family for 45 years and later resided with them for the last eight years.Barry was the last surviving member of his immediate family.Surviving are a step-son, David Wood; step-grandson, Steven Wood, Prince Edward Island; nephew, Martin Langan, New Brunswick; niece, Linda Langan, Quebec.Besides his parents, he was predeceased his wife, Ida (Wood) Langan; brothers, David and Patrick; sister, Theresa (John) Walsh.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Fr. Michael Walsh officiating. A reception will  follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre.
