In my entire life i have never seen Carol Ann get mad . In their home in Greens Harbour, clyde had just finished the gravity flow well and finally got water to their house . She was so excited and i can still see her jumping up and down then turning the water taps on and off until she reached her bedroom where she realized her taps were not hooked up and water was going everywhere and all she said was OH SHOOT .

Carol Anne, all through my younger years I spend every summer with you. The times we had are treasured memories. When I got older and moved away those times together stretched apart. One of my favorite memories as an adult was when you and I drove to Newfoundland to take care of Mom. I drove us from Halifax to the ferry in North Sydney and then you asked if I wanted you to drive the rest of the way to Newfoundland (meaning onto the ferry). That still and always will bring a smile to my face. You will always hold that special place in my heart. I miss you sis.

Losing a wife,Mom and grandmother is so devastating. As a sister she was very dear to us. Since we are from such a large family there are so many beautiful memories. CarolAnne was such a bubbly person, always chatty and happy. When we were preparing food for Mom’s 90th birthday she was right in the middle of it. So helpful.
Recently we went to visit her as she was ill. Those two precious days will live in our memories forever. She shared so many things about her grandchildren even the songs and poem she wrote for them. She was so proud of that.
Sending you all our special love. We will never forget her. ❤️❤️❤️

It is with such a sad heart that I say goodbye to my sister. My big/little sister. She was just a year older than me. She was my confidant, my go to person when I needed to chat and most importantly, my friend. You left us too early. But I guess I never would have been ready for you to leave. Please know how much you were loved and are still loved. Rest easily Carol Anne. I love you.

Clyde, Mark, Karen, and Janet:
Sending you all love and healing thoughts. Aunt Carol Anne will always hold a dear place in my heart. I have the most beautiful memories of her since I was a young teenager. Loving, generous, and kind are words that others have written and describe her beautifully. I would also add ambitious and hardworking as that’s how I remember her. Thinking of you all.

I was saddened to hear of Carol Anne’s passing. I have so many wonderful memories of her. As a child, she was great friends with my mom, and we would visit her often when she lived in Green’s Harbour. We were related to Clyde, but Carol Anne felt like family as well. We had so many laughs together. Then, as a student at university, I stayed with Clyde and Carol Anne for a short period of time. They were both so welcoming and kind. I loved Carol Anne’s giving nature and her love of having fun. When I eventually got married, my wedding was in St. John’s and we got ready at their place. Always smiling and always praying, Carol Anne sure made ME smile that day. It was raining and she told me not to worry because she was praying and she was absolutely certain it would be sunny. At 2:30, the clouds lifted, the rain stopped, and the sun broke out. She said, “ What did I tell ya!?!” Then, at Bowring Park, I was complaining about how warm I was. In typical Carol Anne style, she said, “Now, Karen, I asked God to make the sun shine; don’t make me tell Him to turn down the temperature!” She was quite a funny, warm, wonderful woman. I was lucky to have had her in my life.

My sincere condolences to Carol Anne’s family. While I didn’t know her all that well, I had the pleasure of working with her on a few United Church events. She was a hard worker, it’s always great to share yard sale sorting tasks or annual apple pie making with her. She had an incredible memory for names. She will be missed.

Couldn't believe I was reading Carol Anne's obituary in the paper today. We were only talking to her a couple of months ago at their business. She was the same as she was when she and Clyde sponsored our son-in-law Wayne Smith's racecar years ago. Nicest people you could ever meet. Sincere condolences to Clyde and their family at this sad time.

We were so sorry to hear of Carol Anne’s passing. We remember her kindness and friendship when we moved to Green’s Harbour, Newfoundland, from England. Clyde and Carol Anne were in the next apartment. Carol Anne was always kind, caring and full of fun. We had a trip to Halifax in 1993 from England and were made so welcome by all the family. During the passing years Carol Anne wrote and sent little parcels of baby blankets and table decorations to us. Her thoughtfulness meant so much. When we lost our daughter in law, Jo Cox, Member of Parliament, Carol Anne showed such compassion.
She will be sorely missed.
We are sending much love to Clyde, Mark, Karen and Janet and all the extended family.
