Obituary of Stanley William Herridge

Please share a memory of Stanley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the passing of Stanley, of Garlands Crossing, at the age of 67, on Monday, January 29, 2024 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on January 3, 1957 in Halifax, he was a son of the late John “William” and Jean (Boudreau) Herridge.

Stan is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elsie (Ongo); sister, Jean (Gerard) Landry; brother, Morris Boudreau; nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Stanley loved fishing and hunting, especially deer hunting at Jeff’s camp. He worked as a painter for Banfield and Miles, for Ray Hartlen and also as a painter and carpenter for Ron Ernst for at least 20 years.

I’d like to thank the continuing care cancer team for their kind and helpful care. Also the doctors and nurses of Unit 200 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, who made his last few days on earth comfortable.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A celebration of life will be held from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, February 17 in the South West Hants Fire Hall, 1884 Hwy 14, Vaughan. A private burial will be held at a later date in Cape Breton. Donations in memory of Stanley may be made to Hants Community Hospital – Palliative Care, 89 Payzant Dr., Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
