Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the Verge family would like to announce the passing of our fierce and loving mother and grandmother, Sharon Ann Verge, of Clayton Park, at the age of 79. She passed away peacefully with her son by her side on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Born in Halifax, Sharon was one of seven children of the late Joseph and Irene (Newell) Verge.

Sharon completed a Hair Dressing course and later graduated with a degree in Data Processing - Key Operations in 1976 and worked in data entry for years. She moved from Fairview to Clayton Park approximately 1989 and remained there. Sharon enjoyed Line Dancing with her sisters for years until she had to stop. She was an avid reader and wrote poetry and stories from most of her life. She was a fierce protector and loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by son, Dean, daughter-in-law Andrea (Brouwer) Verge and grandsons, Randy and Jamie Verge; sister, Patricia Doucette and many nieces, nephews and their children.

Besides her parents, Sharon was predeceased by brothers, Edward, Lawrence and Donald and sisters, Sandra Simourd and Doris Roberts.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South St., Halifax, NS B3H 1S6.
