Obituary of Victoria Hildie Eliza Cousins
Of Windsor, left us suddenly and far too soon at 20 years young, on Thursday, August 24, 2023, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of Tracy O’Handley and Ken Cousins. They have not only lost a child, but a best friend.
Victoria was a graduate of Horton High in 2022 and worked at Tim Hortons for five years.
She had many hobbies, Girl Guides was a large part of her life. She started out as a spark and sprouted into a leader (with her mother). She always knew how to light a fire! Girl Guides is where she found two of her soul sisters, Shelby and Ella. Her other soul sisters were Atira, Brenda, Hunter and Max.
She had a love for music that started young. Her dad would play the piano and she would sing in his music room. She was just three years old when she attended her first concert, Ozzy! The singing, dancing and music never stopped from there. She also had a love for rocks. She took yearly trips to Cape Breton for family reunions, to party and sea glass hunt on the beaches. She loved her Cape Breton family and will be missed by them dearly (Paula, Nicole, Catherine, Rachel and Thomas, to name a few). Rocks became a passion. After hours of hunting them, she was able to identify them and considered a career in geology in the future. Other passions included shopping at thrift stores, piercings, trips to visit her sister and family, daily adventures with Grammie and Mom (beaches and food) and her pets; Princess, Cuddles and Rosie.
She will always be remembered for her laugh, as well as singing and dancing to her music in the kitchen, by the Tim Hortons staff. Her sister, Melony and Nick will remember many sleep overs, trips to the beach, suppers at McDonald's, baking and Christmas tree decorating.
Besides her parents, she is survived by half-sisters, Emily Larsen, Salem MA and Melony (Nick) Sheehy, Truro; niece, Clara, who she loved and adored with all of her heart; nephew, Ryder, who will only get to love her from our memories; maternal grandmother, Nancy Guy, lost her only grandchild and best friend; she cherished uncle, Matty, Alberta and uncle, Corey-aka "Big drink" (Erin Mowbray), Peterborough; cousins, Kate, Lucy and "the real" Meaghan, to name a few. She is also survived by many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Victoria was predeceased by maternal grandfathers, Calvin Guy "Grampie" and Billy O'Handley; paternal grandparents, Marjorie and Arthur Cousins and her dog, Hailee.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). Victoria has left our world, but will never leave our hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Windsor Community Centre, 78 Thomas St., on Saturday, September 9 from 11am to 6pm. Please be sure to wear bright colors, Ozzy or Metal shirt in her memory.
