Ruth Redden

Obituary of Ruth Cecelia Redden

Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Age 92, of Windsor. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Ruth was the last surviving member of 13 children. Born June 10, 1926 in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late George and Frances (Perks) Smith.

Ruth enjoyed dancing, baking, bowling, knitting and walking, with her sister, Mabel and friend, Hattie. She volunteered for many years at Dykeland Lodge and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Windsor. Before moving into Dykeland, she could be found at Tim Hortons, almost daily, enjoying tea with her friends. Ruth was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she loved her family.

She is survived by her son, Paul (Marilyn); grandchildren, Judy Anne (Marc) DesRoches and Ralph “R.J.” (Marilyn) Redden; great-grandchildren, Lydia Rose, Ruth Margaret and Calvin Paul DesRoches and Owen George Redden; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, George; daughter, Judy Anne (in infancy); brothers, Ralph, Roy, Earl and Russell; sisters, Blanche, Elizabeth, Verna, Pearl, Shirley, Edith, Mabel and Marie.

The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Dykeland Lodge for their exceptional care given to Ruth during her stay.
