Obituary of Ronald Wayne Hanes

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with sadness that we announce that Ronnie passed away peacefully at home, with family around him, at the age of 78, on Monday, December 11, 2023. Born in Windsor, on May 31, 1945, he was a son of the late Roland and Dorothy (Parker) Hanes.

Ronnie was a big Blue Jays and Ford fan and he also loved cars and old music. He enjoyed tending to his bee hives when he had them as well and making and eating the honey. He was very detail oriented, meticulous and set in his ways. Besides his love of honey, he loved chocolate, peanut butter and coffee but most of all the love of his life, his late wife, Barb. Once he retired Ronnie wasn’t one for going out and about too much, he enjoyed his time at home with his BFF his dog, Rookie.

Ronnie is survived by son, Jason (Roxanne Findley); daughter, Amanda (Justin) Dobson; granddaughter, Emily Dobson; sister, Dianne (Don) Smith; brother, Layton (Jodi Poirier); special family friend, Rhonda Steadman; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Besides his parents, Ronnie was predeceased by his soulmate and the love of his life, Barbara “Barb” (Smith).

We would like to thank Dr. Modasser for his medical professionalism and concern shown to Dad over the last few months.
