Obituary of Diane Marie Breneol

Please share a memory of Diane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Diane Breneol, beloved mother and grandmother, at the age of 72 years. She passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, in Nova Scotia on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Born in Woodstock, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late John “Jack” and Ruth (Ginson) Breneol.

Diane was an active business figure in downtown Charlottetown, PEI. For more than two decades, she owned and managed Pinocchio’s, a popular children’s clothing store. At the end of her career, Diane managed the Root Cellar on Queen Street.

Diane will be remembered for her funny stories, warmth and infectious laugh. She brightened any room. She adored the beaches in PEI and was an avid gardener. During her retirement, she enjoyed crafting, including pottery, knitting, painting and rug braiding. Most of all, she loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and dogs. She was a great friend to many.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Sydney Breneol and Charla Jones, both of Nova Scotia and Tarra Drevet, Alberta; grandchildren, Jeremy and Elsa; sister, Mary Locke, Ontario; brother, Michael Breneol, New Brunswick; as well as her extended family members. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Debra Breneol (1956) and Peter Breneol (1954).

Diane’s family wishes to extend love to the many friends and acquaintances with whom she met and shared time with.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317).
