Obituary of Gloria Jean Sherman

Age 72, of Lockhartville, Kings Co., died suddenly at home, Monday, September 2, 2019. Born on February 10, 1947, Gloria was raised in Lockhartville and was a daughter of Earl Henshaw and the late Winnifred (Spencer) Henshaw.

 

Gloria enjoyed being part of the Hants Border Community Hall and the Sisters of Hope group. She also enjoyed country music, especially Matt Balsor’s concerts.

 

Besides her mother, Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Fred Sherman. Besides her father, she is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Myles, Kentville; Kathy Burton, Lockhartville; Cheryl (Dale) Connors, Bog Road; Sandra (Kenneth) Parr, Lockhartville; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gloria also had many great-nieces and nephews who she thought the world of.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 9 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, King St., Windsor. A reception will be held in the Hants Border Community Hall, 13893 Hwy. 1, Hants Border. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory of Gloria may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Park Lane Mall, Level 3, 5657 Spring Garden Rd., Box 245, Halifax, NS B3J 3R4.
