Obituary of Carolyn Rebecca (Boyd) Rockwell

Age 44, of Hantsport, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 13, 2018. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of Elaine (Johnson) Boyd and the late Larry Boyd.

Carolyn graduated from King’s County Academy in 1992, subsequently studying French at Laval University. She graduated from CompuCollege with Honours in 1998 and received a certificate in Local Government Financial Administration from Dalhousie University in 2017. She has worked for the Town of Windsor for the past seven years recently in the capacity of Accounting Assistant. Carolyn was a devoted mother and encouraged her boys to enjoy life as much as she did. She was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed. Committed to a job which she loved, she was appreciated by everyone in return. She embraced a wide circle of friends with her great sense of humor and a large laugh straight from her heart.

Besides her mother, Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Boyd and Donald and their father, Brian; sister, Lara (Beto Cabrera), Japan; brother, Ashley (Patricia), Ottawa; niece, Yasmine Cabrera; nephews, Malcolm, Farley and Darwin Boyd.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held at Windsor United Church, 613 King St. on Friday, July 27 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Beth Johnston officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the Windsor Community Centre, 78 Thomas St., Windsor. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carolyn may be made to the IWK Foundation, B220 - 5855 Spring Garden Road, Halifax, NS B3H 4S2 or another children’s charity of the donor’s choice.
