Obituary of Donna May Lavers

Age 80, of Windsor, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born April 16, 1938 in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Edith (Cann) Bent.

Donna was a graduate of Acadia University; going on to teach for 34 years in Yarmouth, Horton and Windsor Junior High Schools, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed her time spent around children. Donna was an avid golfer and was a member of Avon Valley Golf & Country Club, Falmouth. She enjoyed swimming at Kingsway Gardens and her walks around town.

Donna is survived by her sister, Anita (Merle) Swim, Yarmouth and brother, Richard Bent, Yarmouth; several nieces, nephews, as well as her cherished nephew, Brian (Wanda) Lavers; and her treasured kitty, Tessa.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Maxwell “Mack” L. Lavers.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 3. A funeral service celebrating Donna’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 4 in the DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment will take place in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.
