Dear Pearl:
Please excuse my tardiness in sending this note to you but just learned today (05/05) of Don's passing as I had been away during the time of his death and funeral. I am sure that there is a very special place in Heaven that Don is occupying because he was such an earnest and effective servant of God. I remember with great appreciation his humility, kindness and willingness to undertake so many tasks that others avoided. I learned a great deal from him when you were in Lockport and I was in Sable River. How kind and gracious you both were to a young and very green minister. I have fond memories of dinners in your home and all the encouragement you both provided. I particularly appreciated all the advice Don provided about commentaries, Association politics and how to get things done in the Church without causing a big row. Don's humility and his passion for serving others has exerted a positive influence on my own ministry in more ways than one. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to meet both of you and your family members. I will miss his smile and hearty handshakes at Convention etc. God bless you and your family in these days of transition until you meet with Don again in the Kingdom.
Blessings
Rev. Charlie Thompson

To Tim and all of the McClare family
My deepest condolences. I hope your memories of this man who is so well described as a generous soul will carry you more easily through the sadness, I am struck Tim at your resemblance of him. The obit speaks of a man of integrity, kindness, commitment and spirituality. And his maintaining genealogical information would imply an active and engaged mind. He would be proud to know he passed all of his traits along to his family though I know only you Tim, and Niki. Please know that I will be with you in spirit on Thursday. May be rest in peace in God's care now.

Greetings in Christ, Sis. Pearl McClare and family of Rev. Donald McClare during this time of his funeral service. My wife Jemell and I offer sincere condolence to you as family friends and minstry colleages, whom we have known over the years. Your relationship with us, has been very encouraging and supportive and we trust that each family member would be empowered by the wonderful assurance of Rev. McClare presence with the Lord; for "to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord"(2 Corinthians 5:8).
Love in Christ,

Dear McClare family,(especially Layton and Edith) I don't know if any of you would remember me or not. I was at Acadia at the time when Layton and Edith were there, and we used to have lots of good laughs together. I seem to remember that we somehow determined that we were distantly related through the Annis connection. Anyhow, Joan and I extend out condolences to you and may you experience The Lord's Presence during this time of grieving. I remember Don in my early days as a Christian. He was certainly a faithful servant of The Lord. We seem to lose contact with so many friends with the passing of time and I had no idea that Layton is living in Fredericton. We are now Fredericton residents also. God bless you, Dean & Joan Annis

My deepest sympathy to you Roseanne and the family. I have good memories of your parents visiting my mother in Berwick. Lula Loomer Foster. There was special conversation between my mom & your dad . I would see him writing notes to himself. It was pretty exciting when my mother recognized your name on the concert programme at Acadia and we met for the first time in the 80's. Our Paster ; Kayla Colford has been spending some time at Dykeland working on her Chaplancy certificate. All the best to Cousin Pearl . God Bless.
