Obituary of Janet Lynn Rourke

Age 51, of Falmouth, passed away peacefully in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Janet was a daughter of the late Lester and Gwendolyn (Nunn) Rourke of Falmouth, Hants County.

Janet lived at home with her devoted family until moving to the Windsor Elms Village in 2021. There she blossomed and experienced a very fulfilled and happy life with newfound friends, volunteers and staff who became like family to her.

Janet is survived by her loving sister, Nancy; best friend, Cassandra Barczyk; many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Besides her parents, Janet was predeceased by several other extended family members.

Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Windsor Elms Village for the kindness and gentle care they provided over the past several years. Also, thank you to the staff of the Hants Community Hospital Emergency Department for their compassion and supportive care.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A celebration of Janet’s life will be held in the fall at the Windsor Elms Village.
