Obituary of William Gordon Sabean
Age 86, of Falmouth, Hants County, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, listening to Saturday Night Classics, with family by his side. Born on October 25, 1939 in Wolfville, Kings County, he was a son of the late Simon Sabean and Greta (Hake) DeCoste. Bill was devoted to his beloved wife, Louise, with whom he shared more than 52 happy years of marriage before her passing in 2017.
Bill was employed by Eastern Bakeries for over 35 years, delivering bread to businesses throughout West Hants. His work became more than just a job - it was a chance to share his quick wit and playful nature with everyone along his route. One of his children's favourite memories was being snuck into the Hants County Exhibition each year in their father's bread truck.
Together, Bill and Louise raised their four children on their small hobby farm, where family life was filled with hard work and simple pleasures. Bill especially enjoyed Saturday night dances at the legion with Louise, creating memories that remained dear to him throughout his life. After retirement Bill continued working alongside his wife helping her deliver mail.
Surviving are his son, Mark (Paula); daughter, Lia Peterson (Kevin Williams); son, Dwight; grandchildren, Danielle and Madison, Dustin, Parker and Laura Peterson, Brandon and Natalie, Tyler Duguay; sister, Debbie; brothers, Fred and Leslie.
Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his wife, Louise; son, George; sisters, Carolyn, Elaine and Christine.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Dykeland Lodge for the compassion, kindness and exceptional care shown to our father during his time there.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). Honouring Bill’s “no fuss” wishes, no funeral or celebration of life will be held. His ashes will be spread at a location dear to him.
