Obituary of Helen Mae Levy

Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Helen Mae Levy of Wolfville, who left this world peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Born February 26, 1953, in Windsor, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Stella (McLean) Levy.

Helen lived a life rooted in faith, family and community. A devoted member of Windsor Baptist Church, she also generously gave her time as a volunteer at Sherwood Church in Lunenburg County. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, Helen found great joy in music and especially loved singing church hymns and country songs. She took great pride in her career as a Secretary at New Minas Elementary School, where she knew every child by name and never forgot a student, even long after they had moved on. Helen was widely admired for her remarkable memory, particularly for local history and genealogy, as she effortlessly recalled birthdates and family connections throughout her community. In her younger years, she loved to socialize and dance and later in life she cherished dinners and social outings with her cousins. Her huge, infectious laugh could brighten any room. Above all else, Helen loved her family deeply and shared a close bond with her brother, Charles “Charlie”, as well as her many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephew and great-great-nieces and nephew.

She will be greatly missed by her loving brother, Charlie Levy; nieces and nephews Sharon (David) Watson, Alan (Heather) Levy, Alexander “Alex” (Lisa) Levy and Sarah Levy (Michael Barker); great-nieces and nephew, Jenna Watson-Findley (Adam Findley), Christopher (Mirae) Watson, Rhiannon Levy (Vincent Lapointe), Hannah and Mikayla Levy; great-great-nieces and nephew, Skye, Lauren, Charlie-Mae, Amelia, Willow, Everyn and Rennick.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Stella as well as her sister-in-law, Margaret Levy and she is now at peace, welcomed home and reunited with her beloved parents in heaven.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Wolfville Nursing Home and Dr. Colin Burgoyne, who cared for Helen with kindness, compassion and dignity during her time there.
