Family, friends and loved ones of Jack have heavy hearts as they say goodbye to him, with so many memories and stories to cherish. Jack was known as a dedicated worker, starting his work at CKF Inc as a teenager. Family remember him starting at age 16 and he retired over 40 years later from the same workplace. He completed his Millwright Block in Cape Breton, which he was proud of and completed his GED in later years. After retirement he worked at least eight more years for Morse Machining in Hantsport. Jack enjoyed playful antics with fellow coworkers and always had a funny comment. He was a Millwright by trade and a mechanic by passion. Those who worked with Jack remember him fondly with accounts of how he always liked a mechanical challenge, he got the job done right and promptly, he was a mentor to many, plus he always made them laugh with his quick sense of humor. To many, Jack was known as the best mechanic around, he was their go-to guy for vehicle troubles. He was well known for always giving a wave and a smile.
Some of his passions from a young age included classic cars, dancing, music, dogs and road trips. He knew classic cars by year, make and model just by glance, also knowing their internal components and performance ability. He enjoyed taking his children to the drag races, monster truck shows, motorcycle shows and classic car shows. He volunteered at the Hantsport Car Show with his brother-in-law, which he thoroughly enjoyed. When he wasn't working, tinkering at home projects or fixing someone's vehicle, he was a family man who enjoyed taking his children on road trips and spending time with them. He loved dogs and loved to play games with them. In his later years he and his partner participated in various community events, such as the Hantsport Blues Festival.
