Obituary of Angus "Bernard" McKinnon
Age 78, of McKay Section, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in New Waterford, Cape Breton on October 23rd, 1947, he was a son of the late John Angus and Mary Catherine (Thomas) McKinnon. He was also a devoted husband to the late Joanne Stevens-McKinnon.
Bernard served in the Canadian Armed Forces for four years, during which time he did a tour in Cypress, he then worked for Westinghouse in Guelph and after that for Pioneer Balloon Canada in Hamilton, Ontario before his retirement.
Bernard enjoyed watching every baseball, hockey and football game with his favorite teams being the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Bills and Hamilton Tigercats.
He is survived by his son, Bernard "Joseph" McKinnon, Alberta; stepdaughter, Cheri (Russell) LeBlanc, McKay Section; granddaughter, Kristyn LeBlanc, Hamilton, Ontario; brothers, Donald, John, Alexander and Robert; sisters, Marion, Rita, Mary and Ernestine; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Bernard was predeceased by his brother, Archie Francis and sister, Kathy.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation or funeral service held.
