Rodney you are missed so much at the Windsor Elms, you had a huge impact on our hearts.
You are unforgettable and I only wish I could hear you say I am up to my ass in alligators one more time. It is way to quiet here without you, but now you are with Mary and your dogs Charlie
May you Rest In Peace my friend
I am sending my deepest condolences to the family

I first met Bud when I needed a1,000 foot road built to a property I was building a home on. He told me upright " We have a problem, I dont work for women!" When I asked " why" he said " Because you people don't know what you want!" I said "I do know what I want and I want YOU to build it!". He built me a beautiful, solid road! He liked my spark. He reminded me of my late grandfather, so I understood the character. From then on he became a long time friend with my family. Spending hours talking master mechanics to my Dad, ( a mechanic) who was just 4 years older. Teasing my Mom about her great cooking and sharing stories of his travels. His truck would roll in the yard and his presence filled our home with laughter. Hes the only man I knew who once buried his car! He helped me in the community to hire good contractors, people who wouldnt take advantage. He knew my former husband had been RCMP so he had lots of questions and we laughed at his adventures. He spoke of his love for Mary and his proud respect for his sons. He once started to cry when he spoke of Carol...those feelings ran deep. He truly loved you all. He spoke of giving up drinking and smoking and was proud to provide for his family. Bud was tough as nails but inside a soft, caring, kind man who always had a twinkle in his eye. He gave me great advice " Find the man who's the lone wolf, he'll take care of you". He was right, my former husband and I reunited and he is " the lone wolf". Bud was a Lone Wolf, he knew he made mistakes in life, didn't really know how to repair them with " words" so he " provided". His family meant everything to him. He praised Mary for being a great Mother and Lady. As gruff as he sometimes was, he loved Mary. Bud was our family friend for 17 years. I'm sure he's finding rusty old tractors, bringing them back to life and building roads in heaven and talking about carborators with my Dad! My Mom ( Ada) and I wish to extend our deepest sympathy to each of you. You don't know us, but through Bud we know of his love for each of you.

It was a privilege to care for Rodney during his time at the Windsor Elms. He kept us on our toes, and took up all the space in the room with his big personality and infectious smile. He’s a man I’ll never forget and we will all miss him and his stories, rhymes, and limericks that made our harder shifts just a bit easier. Because of Rodney, I’ll never take a wooden nickel from anyone!

Rodney was my father's first cousin and used to drop in for a visit while he was still able to drive. I always enjoyed listening to his stories about working in Kuwait. Please accept my condolences on his passing.
