Obituary of Dwight Eugene Caldwell

Age 76, of Windsor Forks, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2026 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on October 16, 1949 in Brooklyn, he was a son of the late Herman and Eva (Chambers) Caldwell and husband to Evelyn (Shaw) Caldwell.

Dwight was a handyman and a jack of all trades and was extremely proud of being sober 24 years in AA.  He loved to give hugs, making you feel so welcomed and loved whenever you received one, something that will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; son, Matthew; siblings, Linda Zwicker, Chris, Rick (Joan), Margie Lake, Tim (Jennifer); brother-in-law, Jerry Eldridge; sister-in-law, Patsy; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Dwight was predeceased by his sister, Paulette Eldridge; brother, David and brothers-in-law, Jack Zwicker and Ron Lake.

 Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A graveside service will be held at a later date in Riverview Haven Cemetery, Brooklyn.  Donations in memory of Dwight may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
