Obituary of Mary Ina Harvey

Age 68, of Mill Section, Hants Co., passed away peacefully, with family by her side on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on March 29, 1958, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Helen “Honey” (MacDonald) O’Leary.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a stay-at-home mom for 15 plus years before getting a job in housekeeping for NS Health which she worked at for 16 years before her retirement.

Mitzi loved hummingbirds, fishing, four wheeling, sitting on the deck enjoying the weather and birds, camping and enjoyed time in the woodlot. She loved searching for sea glass and trips to the South Shore as well as spending time catching up with her grandsons, Hunter and Spencer. She also always looked forward to seeing Ashley and the kids, as she knew she was guaranteed a good laugh. Mitzi had an extensive collection of porcelain dolls and Bruce would make it bigger every year by adding in a new one, something that was an ongoing tradition.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bruce; daughters, Kimberly (Jeff) Hartt and Tanya Parker; grandchildren, Ashley (David), Hunter, Spencer, Brandon, Nicole and Tia; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean McNeil and Paulette Church (Freddie Taylor); brother, Tim (Carolann) O’Leary; sister-in-law, Lottie O’Leary; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John O’Leary.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where a time to visit with the family and share in refreshments will be held on Saturday, April 18, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. A private interment will be held in Windsor Forks Community Cemetery.
