So very sorry to read of Evelyn' passing. She was my favorite teacher of all time ( Grade 4 at Windsor Forks). I loved the books she read to us written by Enid Blyton! I still remember after all this time.....
She was a good friend to my Mom, Doreen Barkhouse, who also taught at Windsor Forks. My condolences to all of Evelyn' s family & friends.

Was so sad to hear of Evelyn's passing..like so many of the kids in the neighbourhood she taught me in Primary...and she was the first teacher to make me stand in the corner for talking..(she wasn't the last),she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

I am saddened to learn of Evelyn’s passing. I first met her during my time working at Hants Community Hospital. Family admissions to hospital brought us into contact. We formed a friendship filled with laughter. She was a lovely lady. I am so happy to have known her. My thoughts are with you.

Saying goodbye to a treasured lady who has touched so many people’s lives and especially her students! I was one of those blessed to have her as a teacher in the Little Red School house in Upper Vaughans from grade 1-6. She taught us more than required subjects and did it with grace and patience. The many Christmas concerts provide opportunities for students to experience aspects of the arts and develop confidence and leadership skills! She gave of herself so that her students would develop the love of learning and feel successful. I thank her for setting my path of becoming a teacher and the joy of teaching. May her family and friends gain strength during this difficult time knowing that many care !

They say no one is perfect . I beg to differ . Evelyn was perfect in every way . From teaching. A parent . Sister .friend . Cooking . She loved her family and said jack was the reason she stayed at home as long as she did . She said her neighbours were the best . Never ever heard her speak negatively about anything or anyone . Wally said she was always respected and loved by family. Friends . If there was a celebration of life at the fire station. She always made sweets . .she loved 45’s and jams at the hall . She shared many stories of living in upper Vaughn . And the things that happened teaching out here . I was lucky to have known her for a few short years . She truly was one of a kind . There will never be another , they just don’t make them like you anymore .RIP Will will always be remembered by all .
