Please share a memory of Christine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Christine Mary Brown, age 93 of Windsor, on Thursday, February 19, 2026 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with family by her side. Born June 19, 1932 in Lawrencetown, she was a daughter of the late Robert and May (Misner) Doherty and wife of the late Neil Wentzel, Don Dill and Jim Brown.

Christine had several hobbies and interests. She enjoyed TV Bingo, knitting and crocheting including making many finger puppets for the hospitals over the years, taking care of a beautiful flower garden as well as cooking and baking, which she always shared. Christine loved to shop, often seen on Sundays at the flea market in Sackville with all her goodies. In her younger years she loved planning family get togethers and parties and being surrounded by her family and friends.

Christine spoke fondly of working at Digby Pines when she was younger and then worked at Marshalls Grocery store in Middleton for 15 years. She then moved to Windsor in 1964 where she worked at IGA for five years and then another 15 years at Walter Stephens Store.  With her hospitable spirit, she housed many boarders over the years.

Christine is survived by siblings, Robert Doherty (Jean), Lawrencetown and Shirley Roy, Sudbury, ON; nieces, Julie (née Wentzel) Johnson (Alan), Judi Baxter (Steve) and Belinda Carscadden (Bob); nephews, Guy (Caroline), Michael and Danny Roy, Steven and Scott (Marjorie) Doherty; great-nieces, Tara Baxter, Sara Lee (Mike), Charlotte, Lorraine, Tiffany, Deftiny, Kayla Roy; great-nephews, Shawn (Melissa) and Brent (Jessica) Carscadden, Brendan (Erin), Nicholas (Ina) and Terone Roy and Ethan Doherty; great-great nieces and nephews, Wynter Rose, Bryce and Pheonix Baxter, Josh and Kyle Whitman, Nolan, Max, William, Abby and Ellie Carscadden, Piper, Melody and Abigail and Matthew Roy. She is also survived by special friends and adopted family, the children of the late Bob Brown, Sharon White (Ken Sears), Debbie Aker (Avery), Gary Brown (Kathy) and Heather Brown (the late Bobby Brown) and their families.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands; sister, Evelyn Baxter; brother, Gordon Doherty and special companion, Robert “Bob” Brown.

Special thank you to the VON, paramedics, staff of Hants Community Hospital – especially Ambulatory Care, as well as Judi, Tara and the Brown family for the kindnesses and care shown to Christine.
