Obituary of Earl Richard Pineo
It is with heavy hearts that the Pineo family announces the passing of their father and grandfather. Earl went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026, with his family by his side. He passed away in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor at the age of 93. Born in Wolfville, on September 3, 1932, he was a son of the late George and Annie-Margaret (Fraser) Pineo and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Earl was a bricklayer by trade. He worked many years for Maritime Foundation, supervising the bricklayers. Besides NS, he worked in NB and NL. The last job he worked on was the New Grace Maternity Hospital, working for a company called Erskine. He worked as a job superintendent for them while also running his own company, Burlington Construction, that he started in 1987. After retirement in 1992, he opened ER’s Country Club in 1998.
Dad liked to play his guitar and sing country music. You would find him at the Tower-lite Night Club, occasionally on a Saturday night, singing up a storm. He also enjoyed many winters at his second home in Florida.
Earl is survived by sons, Robert (Cindy), John (Heather) and Mark; daughters, Elaine Harvey, Sheila Lunn, Yvonne Burgess (Brian), Kathleen Dickieson, Joanne Lewis (Randy) and Jacqueline Pineo; 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; last surviving sister-in-law, Shirley Pineo and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Rhoda; daughter, Marsha Brooks; son, Richard; grandsons, Terry "Junior" and Ashley Brooks; brothers, James and Donald; sisters, June Fletcher, Gloria Tuck and Lorraine Skelhorne; grandparents, John Frederick and Lena Beatrice (Smith) Pineo.
