Obituary of Jody Grant Swinamer

Age 58, of Windsor, passed away peacefully, at home, on Friday, December 26, 2025. Born in Windsor on March 14, 1967, he was a son of Melvina (Hawboldt) and the late Wendall Swinamer.

He grew up in Newport Station. He went to school to receive a diploma in carpentry and worked for several different carpentry companies over the years. He loved to play darts, build model cars, go camping and fishing, spend time with his family and to socializing with his friends. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Jody is survived by his mother, Melvina; brothers, Wade (Christine) and Sheldon (Tracey); nieces, Nastosha (Mike) MacKinnon and Samantha; great-nephews, Mason, Wyatt and Logan MacKinnon; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Besides his father, Wendall, he was predeceased by brothers, Shannon and Guy.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors to celebrate and remember Jody on Thursday, January 8, 2026, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. A public interment will immediately follow in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix. Family flowers only by request, however, donations in memory of Jody may be made a charity of one’s choice.
