Obituary of Aletha Ida Lantz

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Aletha Ida “Edie” (Goodwin) Lantz, age 79, of Windsor. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in the Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Herald and Norma (Swinamer) Goodwin.

Aletha leaves behind her loving children, daughter, Rose (Bill); sons, Adam (Tracey) Joey, Rockey (Dana) and Jack; brother, Nick (Sheila); cherished best friend, Cindy. Mom was a proud and deeply devoted grandmother to her 14 grandchildren, Jason, Nicole, Jody, Gregory, Stephen, Michael, Sheryl, Christi, Jessica, Cody, Roger, Kelsie, Tiffany and Stephanie. Her legacy continues through her 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She will always be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Aletha was predeceased by her grandparents, Thomas and Gladys (Parker) Swinamer; husband, Barry; sister, Daisy and brothers, Archie and Danny.

Mom's life centered around her children and grandchildren. Her door was always open, her home always welcoming, her heart endlessly giving. Family was everything to her and she showed her love through presence, care and unwavering support. To those who knew her, Mom was a constant someone you could count on, someone who made you feel at home.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). At the family’s request there will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Aletha may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
