To Kay's family we extend our sincere condolences on her passing. Hers was a life well lived and we particularly enjoyed our time spent with her as a member of our 211 Willett Red Hatter Group. One Christmas Kay gave us a lovely "light up" angel. We will cherish it even more now.

Q: What will you never forget about Katherine?
A: Condolences to all of Kay's family. I have known Kay for many years when her and I lived close to each other in Dartmouth and would go skating and many walks throughout the City, along with many laughs along the way. Kay was a special person to me and when I think of her in the future it will always be about fun times. Rest in peace my friend.

Reid joins me in sending along our heartfelt sympathy to all of the family. We have so many wonderful memories of this remarkable lady. Starting when our children visited the store across from Hawthorn School, then sharing the same cottage lane on Mockingee Lake, square dancing with her and Vic, and visiting after the church service at Vaughans United Church. She had a “rich” life and was always open to share her joy and generosity with you. She will be missed. We pray that all the wonderful memories of Kay will be a comfort to the family in the weeks ahead. With our hugs Marilyn and Reid Harrison

It is deep sadness to learn of Kay's passing. She was a remarkable lady who I have known since my elementery school days, being a close friend of Dawn, there are many wonderful memories of Kay. Her kindness and generosity while at the family home or cottage. I thought her hard wood floors were beautiful. I enjoyed talking with Kay, so many memories. She will be missed.
Our deepest condolences to the Swinamer-McIvor families. May the many amazing memories you share bring you peace and comfort in the days ahead.
Hugs and Love,
Steve and Bernice McManus

What a woman. I will always remember Kay, surrounded by kids, nervous, fretful, sometimes tearful, but always steady and focused. Her yard was always filled with Swinamers, Woodmans, Millers, Cochranes and other local kids. I was always Johnnie to her. She worked hard at the store and at home. I will always remember her shiny kitchen floors. She enjoyed her many hours at Mockingee Lake on both sides of the water. I will always remember her skating regularly when well into her eighties.
Her 100th birthday in Halifax was a well-attended affair and she greeted everyone personally, asking about family and friends.
Kay also raised 5 children who were very close to her, and she was always there for them when they needed her.
She was my aunt, but also my friend.
John Swinamer
( Unfortunately Sherry and I will out of the country on Jan. 3, but we hope to connect with your family in the new year)
