Obituary of Michael Wayne Anthony

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Wayne “Mike” Anthony of Three Mile Plains, at the age of 64, on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Born February 18, 1961, in Windsor, he was the son of Gordon F. Anthony of Falmouth and the late Mary Joan Elizabeth (Luedee) Anthony of Windsor.

Mike worked with the Bill Lynch shows in his teenage years as well as on the scallop boats for a bit. He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the carpenters’ union local #83 for many years. He also did form work for Lawrence Boyd for many years. Mike was known to be a jack of all trades. He was a hard worker and took pride in everything he did.

Mike loved his family and his family loved him so much. He also adored his grandchildren. He was a dedicated Maple Leafs fan, he loved to hunt and fish and go to boxing with his nephews as well as watching them box. Mike had a huge heart and would help anyone in need.  

Besides his father, Mike is survived by his daughter, Melissa Lake, Windsor; step-daughters, Jessica (Graham) Walsh, Mt. Uniacke; Jacqueline Shanks (Troy), Three Mile Plains; step-son, Tyler Flynn, Three Mile Plains; grandchildren, Westin and Owen Emnan; step-grandchildren, Mikayla, Ava, Sadie and Mason (who called Mike, Pop Pop); brothers, Timothy Foley (Ganor), Whitehorse; Gary “Gig” (Cheryl) Anthony, Kingston; Gordon “Spit” (Jennifer) Anthony, Three Mile Plains; Nicholas “Nick” Stewart (Megan), Shelburne; sisters, Sandra (Steve) Riley, Newport Station; Kimberley (Frank) Dearman, McKay Section; Amanda (Randy) Macrae, Port Hawkesbury; brother-in-law, David Miles, Avonport; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his mother, Mike was predeceased by his sister, Cindy Miles; paternal and maternal grandparents; great nephews, Zachery Hendsbee and Steven Chapman.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). As per Mike’s request, there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South St, Halifax, NS B3H 1S6 or to a charity of one’s choice.
