Obituary of David William Davenport

Age 88, of Upper Burlington, Hants Co., was reunited with his loving wife on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the VG Site - QEII Hospital, Halifax. David was born in Halifax on August 19, 1937 to the late Edgar and Katherine (O’Connell) Davenport.

David was admired by his family as a diligent, hard-working, strong man who was independent, quick witted and always had a story. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years, but his true love was his wife, Marilyn and the life they built together on the farm. Their strength, love and legacy will forever be part of the farm.

Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his gorgeous wife, Marilyn (Snow) and their cherished grandsons, Ryan Lahey and John Baptiste (in infancy).

He leaves behind daughter, Jannie Lahey (Charlie), Upper Burlington; son, David, Medicine Hat, AB; granddaughters, Tiffany Wilson (Lucas), Tarilyn Cochrane (Eric) and Angelique; grandsons, Matthew Lahey and Mathuren; great- grandchildren, Carter Wilson, Reece and Ruby Cochrane.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). Cremation has taken place as per David’s request and the family wishes to honour him at the farm with a small gathering in the spring, where they can plant a tree for both Marilyn and David together.
