Obituary of Marian Louise Flinn
Age 76, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in Halifax, surrounded by her loving family. Marian was born in Halifax on June 14, 1949, the third of five children to her late father, W. Leo Flinn and late mother, Beryl (Hayes) Flinn of Halifax.
Marian was a graduate of Saint Patrick’s High School in Halifax, where she then went on to study nursing at the Halifax Infirmary, graduating in 1969 as an LPN. The majority of her nursing career was spent working with the VON in the Annapolis Valley, then the Halifax area and finally at Parkland Nursing home prior to her retirement. Marian always enjoyed her career as a nurse, with her passion being helping the elderly and volunteered with organizations in her retirement to assist the senior citizens of her community. In her retirement, Marian enjoyed staying active, Sunday suppers at the lake and spending time with family.
She is survived by her son, Jason Trites (Chelsea) of Middle Sackville; sister, Kathy Dyer (David) of Dartmouth; brothers, Kenneth Flinn (Gail) and Peter Flinn, both of Halifax; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Colleen Brown.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Arborstone Enhanced Care, where Marian has had resided for the past several years, for their care and dedication during her stay.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor (902-798-8317).
