Obituary of Bruce Allen Sherman
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Allen Sherman, age 69, of Cogmagun, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, on Sunday, November 30, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer, with his family and friends by his side. Born in Windsor, he was the son of the late Howard Fredrick and Sylvia Minna (Hart) Sherman.
Bruce was raised and lived most of his life in Cogmagun. He was a well-known and highly respected boom-truck driver/operator with RKO Steel Limited of Dartmouth for most of his working career. Bruce loved his beef cows and farmed most of his life. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed raising free range chickens, gardening, working on and repairing chain saws and plowing snow from his neighbors' driveways. He looked forward to his daily visits with friends and neighbors (at supper time) and was always available to help them with any chores that needed doing.
Bruce will be fondly remembered and missed by Beth, his love of 30 years; sister, BettyAnn (Brian); half-siblings, Bonnie (Martin), Dian (David) and Leonard. Bruce is also survived by his son, Bryce (Stacey); daughter, Leslie (Donald); grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholis, Abigail, Conor, Tia and Courtney; step-sons, Andrew (Sarah), Eugene (Sarah), Benjamin (Tanya) and Cameron (Monica); foster brothers and sisters, Danny (Wendy), Theresa (Irving), Barb, Wendy (Marilyn), John (Tanya), as well as Zeta (Mom), Gayle, Marilyn (Chris) and Paul (Krista).
Besides his parents, Bruce was predeceased by Velta Rose, Judy, Joan, Sandra, Leslie and Beatrice.
A heartfelt thank you to all of Bruce's family and friends who made countless trips to the Halifax, Kentville and Windsor hospitals for appointments and to help keep him company while there. Their love and support will not be forgotten. Thank you to the staff of Hants Community Hospital for their kindness during Bruce's brief stay.
