Obituary of Suzanne Marie Smith

Age 65, of Kentville, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by her loving family. Sue was born in Wolfville, the daughter of the late Gordon and Reta (Power) Coffill.

Sue married Owen, the love of her life and they spent many years enjoying time crafting and wreath-making, with Sue knitting hundreds of Santa hats.

Summers were spent happily camping with many campground friends and her beloved cats. Spending time with her grandchildren gave her great joy.

Remaining to cherish Sue’s memory are husband, Owen; daughter, Stephanie (Jeff) Doyle; stepdaughter, Amanda (Justin) Dobson; grandchildren, Emma and Erika Lawrence and Emily Dobson; sisters, Peggy (Darroll) Atwell and Cindy Coffill; brothers, Terry (Cindy) Coffill and John (Mary) Coffill.

Besides her parents, Sue is predeceased by infant daughter, Shelly and nieces, Mallory and Megan Coffill.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Sunday, October 26, in Hillview Cemetery, 25 Sanderson Rd., Scotch Village, Josh Noiles officiating. Please bring a chair and umbrella if required. There will be a gathering with light refreshments to follow at stepdaughter, Amanda Dobson’s home.
