Obituary of Nevin Anthony Coulstring

Age 63, of Vaughan and formerly Hammonds Plains, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with his daughter and niece by his side. Born on April 3, 1962 in Halifax, he was a son of the late Edward “Eddie” and Laura (Dockerill) Coulstring.

Nevin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna; daughter, Samantha Coulstring (Richard Drewniak), East Noel; brothers, William “Billy” (Jeannette), Greenwood; David (Faye), Yarmouth Co.; Lionel (Susan), Queens Co.; Barry, Alberta; step-grandchildren, Aiden, Kylah, Aleiah and Thalia; many special nieces and nephews as well as, special lifelong friends, John and Lisa Mettam. He will also be dearly missed by his three dogs, Nacho, Prince and Ella.

Besides, his parents, he was predeceased by daughter in infancy, Amy.

Nevin will be remembered for his deep love of music and his gift for the piano. Whether playing for family gatherings or simply filling the house with melody, his music brought joy and comfort to all who heard it. He had a lifelong affection for animals and shared a special bond with every pet who crossed his path. His kindness and gentle nature extended not only to people, but to all living things. A devoted family man, Nevin cherished every moment spent with those he loved most. His laughter, warmth and wisdom will continue to echo through the stories and memories he leaves behind. He also had a passion for cars—both classic and modern—and took great pleasure in the craftsmanship and beauty of every vehicle he encountered. Nevin’s life was a reflection of creativity, compassion and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). As per Nevin’s wishes there will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nevin may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
