Obituary of Allison Beals Jr.

Please share a memory of Allison to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Age 59, of Ellershouse, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Born on December 31, 1965 in North Preston, he was the son of the late Allison Sr. and Gloria (Kane) Beals.

JR worked hard to support his family and had a fulfilling career with HRM for over 30 years, retiring in 2017. He then filled his days keeping busy outside, cleaning his car, taking pride in his yard work, socializing with his neighbours (or anyone he met), cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and enjoying day trips out with the boys.

Growing up in Preston, following in his dad’s footsteps is where he learned the importance of taking care of his family. JR was a family man and an extremely proud father who loved watching his children grow up playing sports and teaching them the importance of respect. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards and going on family vacations. He looked forward to Sunday Night Football and having long evening phone chats with his children.

He cared very deeply for his family in Preston and always made sure to stay close and connected. Family meant everything to JR (Junebug), he had a special place in his heart for all of his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

JR is survived by his loving wife the former, Jennifer Millen; son, Tyrell (Taylor), Windsor; daughter, Jalisa, Halifax; son, Evan (Laura), Halifax; daughter, Ashley, Dartmouth; brothers, Roger, Ottawa; Alexander (Phenicious), North Preston; “Little Sis”, Micah and goddaughter, Ravenne.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Sienna Rose.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held in the Windsor United Church, 613 King St., Windsor on Tuesday, October 14 at 1p.m. with viewing starting at 12:00 p.m., Rev. Gail Whalen-Dunn officiating.
