I didn't get to know Claude until later in life, but I always heard great things about him from my father-in-law, Connie MacNeil. After knowing him for that short time, I realized I had met a person who cherished every moment of life and had the strength and willpower to make it last as long as he could. Fine job my friend and may you now rest in peace.

The first time I met Claude, I was walking my dog past their house. He was outside working on the front flower garden. This tiny little black puppy popped his head up. I immediately recognized the breed and had to see him. Janet was up on the deck, I hadn’t seen her at the time.
Well one thing led to another and we struck up such a fun conversation that lasted quite a time. The warmth and kindness that came from them both was palpable. Since that time I struck up a lasting friendship with the crew. They are genuine kind and caring folks. Honest to a fault and always there to help. I had never met anyone who could put up with so much discomfort and yet smile and joke like Claude. I have had my own health issue but they pale in comparison to what he had gone through. Claude always had a smile and was willing to joke and make you laugh. Claude seemed to love it when anyone would stop for a chat. Many times while I was out for walks I enjoyed stopping and chewing the fat with him. Janet often came out to say hi as well and then the trouble started, ha ha. Most times this ended up in a hour long visit. My chats and visits with both he and Janet were always enjoyable and Claude could always turn any story into a joke. His love for family was ever strong and you could see his pride for family emanate from his soul. I value dearly the friendship that started from this tiny puppy’s curiosity to see what was walking down the road. Claude, you will be missed in the 3D world we are in but your soul will never be far from our hearts and those you’ve touch. Your work is done now friend, rest in peace buddy! When we meet again!!!

Janet and family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. It was always fun to run into Claude over the years. Claude told great stories, mostly true, and he loved to talk about the old days on Horton sports teams. I made sure to remind him I was a bit younger than him. We always walked away smiling!

Dear Janet and all of you who loved Claude.
I remember Claude as a twelve year old boy with curly red hair as a student in my classroom at Horton .
I remember a test he wrote for me in history class with a two line answer. When we talked
about why he gave such a short answer he told me that he knew I knew all the rest! I loved him from that day forever.
He was a great person with a big heart, ferocious spirit and talent in sports. You were all very fortunate to have had him in your lives this long.

My condolences to Janet, Randell, Jason, Jennifer and family.
To see Claude would instantly bring a smile to your face. I was one of those kids on the soccer sidelines for many years who benefited from his humour, teasing, support and the life lessons that were occurring without us knowing it. We had lots of fun over the years through the wins and we learned just as many lessons shaking hands after a loss.
He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Claude.
I have many memories of going to visit and seeing Claude at events. He was always happy and joking around.
Me and my cousins always knew when we saw him two things would happen: 1. He would call us dingbats, 2. He would then try to hit us with his cane (normally succeeding).
I am thinking of the family during this difficult time.

Janet, Randell, Jason, Jen and families,
My deepest condolences on your enormous loss. Claude was definitely a character! I loved “running” into him as you always walked away from Claude with your belly hurting from laughing so hard, feeling lighter than before you met him and definitely with more colour in your face. He always spoke with such pride when you asked about his family. He helped me a lot after my car accident in dealing with chronic illness and focusing on the positives. He truly loved helping people. Thinking of you all and sending love and strength.
