Sadly, our beloved Trena States, of Windsor, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, at the age of 55. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of Frederick and the late Yvonne (Hamilton) States.

Trena grew up in Newport Station where she attended Newport Station District School then Hants West Rural High. She came from a large family of 12 children. Trena loved the colour purple (please feel free to wear her favorite colour) and listening to the "oldies" like Mariah Carey, Boys II| Men and Aaliyah. She worked for a number of years as a cook at A&W.

She leaves behind two broken hearted daughters, Shai-Ann and Ashaunti; father, Frederick; sisters, Pamela (Max) States-Downey, Patricia (Dennis) McCulloch, her twin, Tena (Gregory) Adamson, Christene and Clarice; brothers, Wade Hamilton, Terry, John, James (Susan), Delbert (Nicole) and Brian (Lucy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Trena is joined in rest by her mother, Yvonne (2022), her niece, Nitiesha (2021) and her nephew, Dashonn (2017).

Despite many challenges with her health she continued to live her life. She made many friends during her stay at Dykeland Lodge and she had an impact on each person she ever interacted with. Trena was courageous, inspirational, loving and funny.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317).
