Obituary of Michael Peter Joseph Webb
Age 67 years young, of Newport Corner, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, after he fought a long hard battle with cancer. Mike was born May 28, 1958 in Halifax to the late Ronald and Joan (DeEll) Webb.
Mike is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sylvia (McCulloch) Jee; daughters, Holly (Colin), Yellowknife; Heidi (Kevin), Cheverie and Ashley, Scotch Village; sons, Ryan (Dawne), Owensound, ON and Cori (who predeceased Mike in 1998); brothers, Chris (Tracey), Falmouth; Paul (Ashley), Scotch Village; Craig (Darlene), Alberta; sisters, Daphne (Robert), Annapolis Royal and Lynne (Ryan), Wolfville; nephews, Ben, Nathaniel, Brandon and Josh and niece, Lyndsay. Mike “Papa, Grampy” was an amazing grandfather to his grandchildren, who he loved unconditionally, Ryleigh, Ryerson, Ryken, Bryson, Hunter, Lilly, Cole, Austyn, Quynn and his adopted granddaughter, Jenna, who from day one always called him "THE MAN". Her contagious laugh would always brighten his smile whenever she was around.
Mike spent 36 dedicated years of service to his country in the military. Throughout his military career he spent time traveling, meeting wonderful people creating long lasting friendships and making a lasting impression on those he worked with.
Many awards, merits and certificates show just how much he was appreciated and respected by all those who worked around him. One of his biggest achievements was his award for the order of military merit. Meeting the Governor General was one of the most impactful and honored things he has done. After his retirement from the military, Mike was not one to sit around too long so his retirement was short-lived from the military. Working for Micco for the last 14 years, Mike enjoyed meeting his new coworkers and navigating life as a civilian. No matter where or who he worked for, Mike made a long-lasting impression on those around him. He will always be remembered for his dedication and his smile.
When Mike wasn't working, he was home with the love of his life, Sylvia and his fur babies, Jessie, Tia and Marley, who will miss him forever. He and Sylvia enjoyed camping down in Bridgewater at their trailer, traveling, spending time on the deck, barbecuing with family and taking drives around Nova Scotia just spending time with each other.
Fishing was right up there with his love for Sylvia. He even taught her to fish so he could have some company to go with him. They spent hours fishing down in Cheverie. They liked to see who could out fish each other, Sylvia would normally win. His love for pickleball and for keeping active was important to him and beating Chris and Ben were always on top of his list.
Throughout the years Mike softened his exterior as each of his grandchildren were born. They would melt his heart every time they were around. Playing pool with his brothers was also one of his favorite things to do even though he didn't win.
These last few years Mike got to spend more time with his family and friends making memories. His daughters kept him on his toes and made sure to keep his grumpiness alive. They enjoyed driving him crazy, frustrated and laughing all at the same time.
Mike will be missed by his family and friends along with his fur baby, Marley. Never a day will go by without all of us remembering and missing him. Until the day we see you again MIKE, “We Love You 4”.
