I wanted to reach out and send Linda and Emma and the entire Atlantic Canada health community my sincere sympathy on Martin’s passing. I first met Martin when he was in government, and I was at Bayer. He was an outstanding professional in and out of Government. Martin and I then worked directly together, first at Bayer and again at AstraZeneca. Like many of us, Martin was always a friend first. He will be missed by us all - and he was such a strong role model for dedication to family, friends and community. A real gem - rest in peace dear friend - and most of all, thank you for enriching so many lives.

Dear McNeil Family -
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I was very sad to hear of the news about Martin, such a wonderful man and colleague. I worked with Martin at AZ for a number of years and as a fellow east coaster we had an immediate bond. He was larger than life, a lively storyteller with many laughs and just an all around great person.

My sincere condolences to your family. I work at AstraZeneca, as Martin did, although we did not work closely. We would meet a couple of times a year, at a meeting or occasional work social event. I was always impressed with Martin’s knowledge of healthcare in Atlantic Canada and his commitment to making it better. But he would truely light up when we inevitably got to discussing basketball and his daughter as we shared this common interest, both having teenaged daughters playing ball. Martin was someone who I always left having sincerely enjoyed our conversations and wishing to have more. He will be missed by many.

I will miss you Buddy. Especially the jam sessions we used to have years ago. Remember one silly night on stage at the Rebecca Cohen? You, me, Rob Stappells on keyboard, John Biggs on bass, Joe Graves on drums., Frankie Thornton on sax. None of us even remotely embarassed? I loved catching up at the Spitfie. Reminiscing .Swapping tales. Comparing meds & procedures.I wished we could have done more of that. Joni was right "You don't know what you got 'til it's gone".

I was deeply saddened to hear about Martin’s passing. His Memorium is a beautiful tribute to a life well lived, and it brought back many memories of the time I had the privilege of working alongside him.
Martin was truly a remarkable colleague who was wise, thoughtful, and generous with his time. I learned a great deal from him, valued his opinion, and always trusted his guidance. He was also always good for a laugh and a story!
Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Martin will be remembered with great respect and real fondness by all who had the good fortune to know and work with him.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Martin to ensure Atlantic Canadian patients could get access to the latest innovative medicines to help them and their families. He was a huge advocate for helping others. However, Martin's brightness shone through when we talked about our daughters playing basketball against each other and Emma's graduation and future career plans. Being from Gander, he would always phone me from the Gander fishing trips to report on the water depth and how much fun he was having with his buddies and the local guides. I will miss our chats but most importantly, Emma, you are his light and I know that he will always be with you. We lost a good one. Shawn

I had the great privilege of knowing and working with Martin in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry where we served together on a number of industry committees.
Martin was a gentleman and his incredible intellect, leadership, and collaborative nature made him a pleasure to work with and to learn from, and I learned a lot from Martin. We often shared some stories of our mutual love of family and fishing. Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of a wonderful man and remarkable gentleman. May he rest in eternal peace.

Linda, Emma and Family-
My deepest condolences on the loss of dear Martin. As a close colleague at AZ for many years, I had the pleasure of talking politics and hashing through health policy discussions with Martin and his sharp, analytical mind.
We had great long discussions and I also loved hearing about his latest outdoor adventures. But most of all, you could see his eyes light up with love when he spoke about his family. He will be greatly missed!

My very sincere condolences to all of Martin’s family and friends.
I as so many of the current and former AZ colleagues were so saddened to learn of his passing this week.
I was fortunate to get to work with Martin closely for many years and as a fellow Caper appreciated his pragmatism and sense of humour.
He made a significant impact on me, many colleagues over the years and his work had such a positive impact to patients across Atlantic Canada,

Please accept my sincerest condolences. I only worked with Martin for a two year period, but over that time I came to appreciate his enduring love for his family and the outdoors as well as his professionalism and pragmatism with respect to business. He could command the room whenever he was in it, but often chose to take on different roles depending on the circumstances. A man that left an indelible mark.

Linda and Emma,
I was so sad when Claudia told me about Martin's passing. He was such a lovely, kind and intelligent man. We spent so many hours watching our girls play basketball. It truly was the highlight of our girls growing up. I always loved chatting with Martin at the games and watching how much he loved to watch Emma and her team mates play. He was so kind to Claudia and very quick to offer her drives to games when we couldn't make it.
He will be dearly missed by so many. Sending my love to you and Emma at this difficult time! Xoxo

My brother in law, Martin, was one of the nicest men I ever met. He was always quick to smile and laugh. He was so genuine, kind, sweet, and a wonderful husband and father. I remember when my children were little and he played with them in the pool, having such a good time, they loved going to Linda's and Martin's!! My grand daughter 29 plus years later also enjoyed having Martin to talk to play with her in the pool . He loved hanging out with all his family. Martin touched so many lives with his kindness, he will be so missed. I was blessed to know and love him. May you have a cookie program in Heaven!! Xo Ginny
