To the Family
Please accept my sincere sympathy on the loss of your beloved Paul. When I saw the picture of Paul in his younger years it reminded me of the quote from his high school yearbook. "Steal my wife I don't care but please don't touch my long straight hair". It brought a smile to my face as that is what Paul did was to make people smile. Such a precious gift.

I feel unfortunate at not being able to attend Paul's Memorial Service. My thoughts have been going back over some of the many meetings and chats Paul and I had over the years, both personal and professional. They were all great times. To his family and all close to him I convey my condolences. He was a good man who will be missed by so many of us.

I only heard of Paul's passing today. I first met Paul through our shared enjoyment of curling, back in the 80's, having curled against him numerous times. A true gentleman, whose word, and integrity was never in doubt. Well liked and respected by those who knew him. I know he shall be dearly missed, so make your memories fond, and in time smiles and a few laughs shall come your way. RIP Paul

Paul and I met it 1960 when we both started grade seven, as quiet and callow young men, in the first year of the new WRHS. We both left school at the same time, and it was not long before I started meeting Paul around town. The last conversation was irrelevant and all you remembered was his kindness, friendliness, and lack of pretense.
Paul's great warmth was a gift to the Windsor community.. Done too soon.
Both Karen and I send our sympathy to the sisters of Paul and share our loss of this kind man.

I was saddened to hear of Paul’s passing, I was aware he had been ill but I try never to think of death for those I hold in high esteem until their time has come or is near. Paul was an easy going person with an infectious smile as a youth. We ran into one another in front of the CIBC in Windsor just a few short months ago and that magnetic smile was still as strong as ever. We greeted one another warmly and had a brief exchange of words as we shared a handshake. Obviously, I did not know this would be the final interaction between us.
Paul was a popular individual throughout his entire high school years and known by everyone, mostly because of his love for music which was only slightly enhanced by his height. Paul was certainly a strong contender for one of the easiest going individuals I have ever known.
Paul’s passing will leave a void but his memory will be lasting. He has left his family and friends a legacy to be forever cherished, respected and held high as an example to others and a life path worthy of emulation. What more can one ask of another human being?
On behalf of Debbie and myself, we send our sincere condolences to Paul’s entire family and his long list of friends.

I have just recently been advised of Paul's passing and am so saddened. We used to meet at various local social events and would discuss music matters (genres, bands, gear, etc.) It was especially enjoyable for me as Paul was also very well-versed in music of the Blues which is a small niche corner in the Maritimes. His insight will be sorely missed!
To all his family; please accept my most sincere condolences and may the many, many wonderful memories of Paul be a comfort during this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Paul’s passing. He was a genuinely kind and friendly individual, making it easy for anyone to strike up a conversation with him. Although he didn’t sell me my first car, he was the one who sold me several subsequent purchases, and his honesty truly shone through in every interaction.
I will always be grateful for the times he came to my rescue when I faced issues with my vehicle. As is often the case with car troubles, they occurred outside of office hours, yet Paul still made himself available to help. He went above and beyond.
I will always remember Paul as a remarkable person — a warm and kind man who touched the lives of many.

Jeannie and I are very saddened to learn of Paul’s passing. We have known Paul for many years, as a friend, in conversations, and sharing smiles and remembering “those good old days”.
I (Lloyd), being heavily involved in the “band scene” of the 60’s, had many chats about the music and the musicians of those wonderful days. In fact, I recall the 4th Dimension so well: our paths crossed often!
And Paul was on the front lines for Avonian Motors when I discussed radio advertising.
Paul was a tremendous Ambassador for our community and his infectious smile, his unequalled humour (and storytelling) and his irresistible presence, will leave an irreplaceable void in the hearts of so many who knew, admired and respected him.
To his Family, most of whom I have known for at least fifty years, please accept our most sincere condolences on Paul’s passing. He was truly a great and wonderful man. Lloyd and Jeannie Smith

My Great Uncle,
The tallest of our family, the kindest man. Great Nannys baby boy.
My best memories are easily anytime I would see you, you would feel like you got to hug your daughter (as I resembled my cousin Sarah growing up, and she lived out of province) Paul felt a special connection through me, and I always felt very connected to him a little extra that way. Every time “my goodness you look like my daughter!” .. I honestly always felt very lucky to look like her, Sarah I always thought you were a super cool cousin, and loved hearing your voice on the answering machine for all the years that Paul kept your greeting from when you lived there. So many years!
Living just down the road from my grandparents Val & Greg (my Nanny and Huddy) mom and I would drop in often during my younger years, I would beep and often drop by just to knock and say hi in my later years.
I feel pleased with the amount of time we spent together, as people always feel there isn’t enough time, I think we did pretty well.
Always celebrating birthdays, annual summer campouts at auntie Jill’s, summer bbqs, cottage visits, retirement celebrations, holidays and Father’s Day with uncle Paul, there is no shortage of memories, and a good feeling to go with writing this.
Saddened to see it all happen, but thankful I got to kiss you goodbye and thank you for being a wonderful great uncle.
My heart is with my great aunties, and all the cousin.
❤️
Laura

Unfortunately, Sharon and I will not be able to attend Paul's celebration of life.
