I always looked for her in the audience at Four Seasons Orchestra concerts and was always sure to see her smiling face in the audience!

Irene was a wonderful friend to my mother, Vera Caldwell....and to the whole family. When I was home and we went for walks in Smiley's Park it was a such a pleasure to chat with her and hear her insightful comments and queries, often interspersed by a happy laugh. She was a positive influence on us all.
Thank you, Irene.

Mrs Dugie was definitely one of the nicest and kindest person I have ever known. She never was one to speak badly of anyone. My Mom taught with her at Brooklyn Elementary. She taught my son and he loved her immensely.. My last memory of her was in church and she showing me what Matthew had bought home to her from Montreal.... May she rest peacefully safely in God's hands and be reunited with her husband and all those that gone before her that she loved dearly.. And for those left behind may you be comforted that she touched many many lives.... Diane & Wendell Davison

Irene was one of the most compassionate, caring, loyal people I have been blessed to encounter. She had a wonderful, whimsical sense of humour that I will miss terribly. I recall her swinging her little brown jug around as Granny in our Beverley Hillbillies skit. She was a mentor and guiding light for thousands of youngsters. On a visit last summer we shared so many memories. She sent me a note that I will always cherish- concluding that we shared the ability to bounce back from adversity because we were both lifetime Maple Leafs fans. Through the church we meet people the light shines through. Irene was one of those people. Celebrate her life, my friends, as she celebrated ours. May the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Rev. Kevin Cox
