Obituary of Gwendolyn Irene Murphy

Of Windsor, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in Blomidon Court, Greenwich, at the age of 88. Mom was born in Three Mile Plains to the late Arthur and Emily (Miller) MacDonald on December 3, 1936. She was the last surviving member of seven children.

Mom is survived by sons, Eric (Laura), Daniel (Jo-Anne) and Randall (Philip); daughter, Maxine (David) and their families; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Winfred; daughter, Jacqueline; brothers, Alvin, Reg, Cecil and Melman (infancy); sisters, Katherine and Nina.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Blomidon Court, Shannex and Doctors Targett and Bustin. Your kindness and care towards mom will always be remembered and appreciated.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). As per Gwen’s wishes there will be no service at this time. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Newport Landing Cemetery, Avondale. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gwen may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
