Obituary of Edith Elizabeth "Edie" (Crossley,MacDonald) Baxter
It is with great sadness that we announce that Edie, age, 71 of Garlands Crossing, Hants Co., passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, July 24, 2025 in the Emergency Department, Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on August 1, 1953 in Bramber, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Myra (Lake) Crossley.
Edie worked as a homecare worker for many years and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. In her free time, she could be found enjoying her time in her flower gardens, listening to music, cooking, painting or going to the movies. She also loved to travel, shop and decorate her house.
She will be deeply missed by daughter, Shelly (Adam) Taylor; son, Gregory (Michelle) MacDonald; grandchildren, Kyle and Morgan MacDonald and Ethan and Brayden Taylor; sister, Janet (Lloyd) Hawboldt; her children’s father, David MacDonald; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Crossley.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 5 in Bramber Cemetery, Hwy. 215, Bramber, Celebrant Helen Lindsay officiating. Please bring a chair and umbrella if required. Donations in memory of Edie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Box 245, Halifax, NS B3J 3R4 or to any charity of one’s choice.
