To the Family of Mr. Harold Wile,
Mr. Wile hired me for my first job outside my family’s farm. Through this work he impressed upon me the responsibility to work hard for the privilege to work on a Highways Crew with my friends. Andrea and I send our deepest condolences to the Wile Family, especially our classmate, Baruck. He always had a kind word and a quick catch up about my old friend when we met in Hants County.
Sincerely, Stephen and Andrea

The Board, Management Team and Staff of Kendall Lane Housing Society are deeply saddened by Harold's passing. He was a wonderful person and his presence will be sorely missed. A founding member of Kendall Lane Housing Society and long time Chairman of the Board; his care and support for disabled young adults speaks to who this wonderful man was. We are grateful for good people like Harold who make people happy and do wonderful things in life; writer Marcel Proust described them as the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Our thoughts are with you.

To the Wile Family,
I want to express my most sincere condolences on the passing of Harold. His contributions to his community have had long lasting effects. When we served together on the West Hants Municipal Council, our opinions and judgements were often at odds, but the discussions were always civil and respectful. I even visited him when he was in charge of the building of the pier in Weymouth. My thoughts are with you all.
Warmest Regards,
Dominique Henry

Well finally I am able to share a memory.Harold was like a father to me in my childhood I think I idolized him.Dad was always away working,in the woods. The mill, the garden or the barn he loved me but had no time for me the moments I had with him were super special, but Harold put me to bed he bathed my knees when they would pain he showed me how to dress for church, he tought me how to pray, he showed me how to drive, operate the asphalt roller spread asphalt , speak to people just behave when he left home it was hard to live without him , I think you understand why I miss him.I could go on, so many memories I sometimes felt like I was part of his family,Harold and I had a relationship like no other.A brother yes one who cared for me as a son a brother, a workmate ,a peer advisor, I know he cared for me thats why my memories are so precious . I will see you again this time it will be even better. Thanks for reading and sharing what brotherly love really is, we had it we shared it,hope you enjoyed it.Blessings.

Dear Marguerite, Faye and family- my sincere condolences on the passing of a great man.I remember one time he came into Dykeland and really wanted Marguerite to buy a new car and tried to pull me into that conversation. It did not help that I had just bought a new one and he knew it. Shortly after that she had a new one! He loved his family and had many years to show it in many ways. Enjoy your memories.EHL6L

Uncle Harold was a true gentleman with an amazing family. He was always the same person with the unique voice, and I know my Papa (David) looked up to him. I am sure Harold spends his time now laughing and telling stories with Paul and dad about growing up and being kids. I had the privilege of knowing Harold since I was a kid and always remember him being such a loud singer. His distinct voice could be heard throughout a crowd. I used to always appreciate how much he spoke with confidence, and when he talked, people listened.
Please rest in peace my dearest uncle and know that when people talk about you, they talk about you with confidence and how much of a family man you were, and dedicated to the church. I am sure Margarite will miss you deeply, but she has such an amazing family surrounding her. Thank you Harold for all you did for me, and just being a true Uncle and a Wile.
Sincerely,
Darrin Wile

Reading Harold’s obituary saddens me greatly. I know how much he loved and was loved by his family. I knew a few of his family in different capacities - his daughter, Debbie Wile-Moore, in my work with the Superintendent of Schools; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Wile, in her nursing role at Dykeland where my mother resided and in her personal care for me; and his granddaughter Emily, first as a student at Avon View and then as a caregiver for my mother at Dykeland. I feel as if I know so many members of Harold’s family. But mostly, I knew him from his role with local school boards, as they progressed through amalgamation more than once. I served as Hants West Local President for several years and attended most Board meetings. I later served with the Annapolis Valley Regional Representative Council as a member and then as Chair. We worked with the School Board often. In all my years sitting across the table from Harold at meetings, even through negotiations, he was always a gentleman. Those meetings could easily become heated but he maintained a calmness and even at the worst moments, he could smile. Every time I have seen him since those years, he has spoken, and always smiled. He was a man happy with himself and with his life, and he made it so easy to smile right back. My sincere condolences to Harold’s entire family, especially to those I knew well and have a high regard for - Debbie, Debbie, and Emily. I know you have all lost an integral part of your lives. May your families be comforted by the countless memories of times shared with this great gentleman.

Q: How did you meet Harold?
A: I met Harold in 1983, when I started in nursing school. My roommate was his daughter Faye. I spent many weekends over the following two years visiting Harold and Marguerite, when Faye would go home. And I lived with them for 6 months after graduation.
Harold and Marguerite were so very welcoming and kind. I always was made to feel like part of the family. And what a wonderful family it was. So much love and respect for one another. Harold was clearly the hero of his children and grandchildren. And he so loved them all...that was very evident.
I remember one particular supper that I cooked for Harold and Marguerite. It was liver. Which Harold loved. And I hated. I baked it in a tomato based sauce in the oven. It was horrible. To me, no matter how liver is cooked, it tastes awful. Dear Harold, he gagged that liver down, just to save my feelings I'm sure. I do remember him saying, "one should never mess with liver, it needs to be fried". And he left it at that. ☺️
I am so sorry that I hadn't kept in touch these past few years....but Harold, Marguerite and his beautiful family have made a lasting impression on me. ♥️♥️
